So many times when we buy a plot in the outskirts of Chennai we are confused between Patta and TSLR.
TSLR - Town Survey Land Register is a document which is similar to patta that's provided for gramathu natham land from the tahsildar office. The only difference between it and a Patta is that the later is provided when the land is under municipal government and TSLR is provided when the land is under panchayat government.
So they are equally valuable and serve the same purpose.
The TSLR consist of the following information,
- Property owner information
- Accurate land measurements
- Direction and information about the neighbours land
